Read Under the Lights

Each fall, the Building Braves program (in partnership with PV elementary schools and PVHS athletics) hosts an event called Read Under the Lights. This is a special literacy night for learners of all ages to enjoy with their families and our athletes. There are a variety of reading/activity stations run by our student athletic teams, raffle prizes, free books, and snacks from local food trucks. We welcomed 289 learners, 143 parents, 78 student athletes, 5 community partner organizations, and 25 volunteers to our event in 2023!! Each learner was able to choose a new book and had the chance to win one of our 25 donated door prize baskets from 15 local businesses and community members!

Our goal is that this event helps instill a love for reading and also promote our athletics program!
