CALL TO ORDER

MOMENT OF SILENCE, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

SCHOOL BOARD PRESENTATION: Paula Diem will present a flag that was gifted for the new school to honor all of Pequea Valley School District’s veterans.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

On a motion by _____ and a second by _____, the Board approved the January 4, 2024, Committee Meeting minutes.
CHIEF OF FINANCE AND OPERATION’S RECOMMENDATIONS:
On a motion by _____ and a second by _____, approval was given for the following Consent Agenda Items A-E. (rc)

     A.  The Audit Report for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

     B.  Additional Capital Reserve Items:

  • Boiler for Salisbury Elementary School at an estimated cost of $33,275.
  • Turf Tank Line Striper (pro-rated over 6 years; first year $10,000) at an estimated cost of $85,000.
  • Sound System for the Stadium at an estimated cost of $48,560.

      C.  The following change order for the construction project:
            General Contractor – LOBAR - Concession Stand Water Line Service at a cost of $21,555.45.

      D.  The 2024-2025 Lancaster County CTC Budget.

      E.  An Agreement with ASL Services to provide interpreting services to the district at a cost of $70 per hour.

SUPERINTENDENT’S RECOMMENDATIONS:
On a motion by _____ and a second by _____, approval was given for the following Consent Agenda Items A-E. (rc)

      A.  For the district to continue using Lancaster Newspapers as its public newspaper of general circulation.

      B.  To enter into an independent contract with the following pit orchestra participants to be paid out of the proceeds from the 2023-2024 Spring Musical:

  • Andrew Gossert, $600
  • Renee Mendenhall, $600
  • Byron Mikesell $750
  • John Spade, $600
  • Nathan Heverin, $600
  • Annelise Lorentzen, $600
  • Diana Palade, $600

 

      C.  The expulsion of Student A for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year for disorderly conduct at a sporting event/possession of vaping materials/leaving school without permission, along with other infractions throughout the school year.

     D.  New Board Policy 109.1 – School Library Policy Implementation.

     E.  Personnel.
